Ramón
Ramos Winery is situated in Venialbo, small village in the province
of Zamora, Northwest of Spain. The winery produces wines inside
the D.O.Toro area.
|
 |
| The
area, constitued as D.O. Toro in 1987, consists of twelve townships
placed in the west of the province of Zamora. This area comprises
sixty thousand (60.000) hectars, being four thousand (4000) of
them devoted to vine-growing. The vineyards of Alfoz de Toro cover
the forty per cent of the whole wine-growing region.
The Venialbo
area, in the southerm part of the D.O. Tor region, has an exceptionally
hot climate and quickly draining topsoil which allows the limited
rainfall to collect in the subsoil. This hot climate and poor
soil combine to allow Venialbo to produce some of the best wines
of the region, as it has for centuries.

 |
| Half of
our vine stems are old, and so ages wine comes out of them. The
other fifty per cent of the vine stems, younger, will provide
us with more unaged, fruitier wines. In this way we can keep on
producing and exporting wines, whose marked character is appreciated
world-wide, to different countries. |
